Dirt Bikes and Quads!
As of January 1, 2014 it became
mandatory that "ALL" (children and
adult) OHV (Off Hwy Vehicle) riders,
Must have an ATV Safety Education
Card when riding on public land.

Step 1:
If your youth are between the age of 6 to 15, Register Here for a Hands-On Evaluation
Class in Jackson County, or click on a
Training Locator and find a class near you to
complete state requirements.  The fee is
$20 for Oregon residents and $65 for out of
state residents.  If your youth plan to ride both Quads and Dirt Bikes on public land, they
will need to be registered and evaluated for both.

Quads and Dirt Bikes are evaluated together in the same class
*  Bring the youth's
motorcycle or quad,
ready to ride and the
right size!

*  Have completed the
OPRD on‐line Safety
Education Course.   
Bring verification of
completion (Either
ATV Safety Education
Card, or, printed
Certificate of
Completion)

guardian accompany
you (if you are 15 or

that fits properly)

Once your youth have completed the
Hands-On Evaluation Class, we will give
them a temporary card, submit their
information on the state website and the
state will send you a plastic card with the
date of completion imprinted over the
class type they completed.  It usually
takes 2 to 3 weeks to receive the card in
the mail.
